The forces of abundance and automation turn goods and services into commodities so quickly, survival is facilitated by “giving the world something it didn’t know it was missing”, as Paola Antonelli says.
Today competition is no longer about the biggest or fastest car but rather the sleekest design. Something you are happy to display in public view rather than hiding away in the garage.
Technology is moving so fast the laptop you bought a year ago can’t even handle the latest software, so why keep it?
Maybe because it has a unique graphical user interface that you can’t live without.
Turn to web design, so many companies have moved to Adobe Flash to make their site stand out without considering the fact that the search engines couldn’t see the content. This however is changing as the world adapts to the design revolution.
Education is no longer about what you can remember, but rather how you learn and stay up to date. A college graduate on a four year degree will notice in the final year that his or her first year notes are already out of date.

Maestro Tarrega transcribed this beautiful Chopin Prelude for guitar, but you don’t often hear his arrangement, as it’s in a somewhat offbeat key (G# Minor) and requires some hefty finger-stretches. My transcription is in E Minor. It’s faithful to the original piano score and well within performance range for any second-year student.. You can download a free score (standard notation only) from my web site.
Short and sweet – the main theme from Chopin’s Etude Opus 10 Number 3, popularly known as ‘No Other Love’, ‘Tristesse’ and ‘Deep is the Night’, played on my Antonio Picado 2001 Model 62. Downloadable standard notation score available on my web site – Paul’s Free Guitar Scores.
